I've been out of reach of (alternate) reality for around a year now but the offer of a free Zephyr from Intaki Syndicate was too tempting. So Bunsen is back
Any previous investors with Optech will know that I've launched some straightforward enterprises, and some complex ones, but this venture is a return to a previously successful formula of Optech Unit Trust (OPTUT). Thus will be the second such investment and so I've given it the rather snappy name of OPTUT2. This will again be a growth fund (i.e. all profits will be re-invested and there will not be dividends).
Profit will come from trading and manufacturing. Ability and trust are as demostrated by previous ventures. Expected profits (as growth) are anticipated in the region of 11% month tailing off slightly as I hit saturation.
I am now open to investments as per the prospectus and the unit price is 1 mil/unit in blocks of 10 until the fund starts trading officially on 30th Dec. Funds to "Optech Agent" please.
Optech Scientific investments - background
Optech Scientific was formed on 1st March 2007.
The corporation's first public investment was the successful Optech Startup Fund (Eve-O thread here). Building on this initial success was OPTUT (Eve-O thread here) New Edens first public Unit Trust which returned 75% profits over 2 months (results thread). Optech Mineral Ventures (here and results) averaging 7.4%/ month return from mineral trading, and Eve Index, New Eden's first automated mineral futures exchange(here).

What about sell orders?
Pretty sure that means "all trade inventory valued at buy price."
Yes
Originally by: cosmoray As a possible investor, I have a few questions:
1. What is the total size of the fund?
2. You estimate that you will make a return on capital of about 40% per month. That is a huge number. You then take a management fee of 75% again which is very high. Most management fees I see on here are in the 25-50% range. If the fund grew to 20B do you still expect to make 8B per month profit?
3. What can you do to satisfy the concerns of potential investors?
1. Open ended. I agree that % return will be less as overall fund grows, but it's not a bond offering. If growth % falls to unnacceptably low levels (say 1%) no doubt some will cash out, the fund size will shrink and the growth % will rise again.
2. Initially yes and I know I can because I've done so before. As I stated the % growth of the fund (i.e. investor payout part) will be around 11% tailing as the size of the fund grows. However units can be sold if the rate falls to a level the investor doesn't like.
My fee of 75% of overall profits is (from experience) at a level where I don't feel resentment about the work involved, and where having the extra capital raises enough extra profit for me to make me want to carry the "freeloaders".
3. Track record and do your homework TBH

Also, what do you plan on doing with the ISK, exactly?
Trading and manufacturing as per OP. It's a trading fund wrapped in a nice methodology to buy and sell "shares" (units)
Originally by: Cista2 So, with the first OPTUT you got bored very quickly and closed down already after 2 months. What makes you think this will not happen again?
I won't be manufacturing cap ships. If I get bored I will pay out my investors and do something else as I've done previously.

Also, you must fix the size of the fund so you can actually deliver the growth you project. There is no way you can deliver the same percentage if you get 100 bn as if you had 10 bn. And I don't think you anticipate the size of funds you may get.
Respectfully, no. See reply to Cosmoray

Originally by: Cista2 The OP has set a deadline for December 28, but appears not to be online over xmas.
I don't think I did.
OP states trading begins 30th Dec and link to prospectus states
"OPTUT 2 will start trading on 30th Dec 2009
Optech Unit Trust 2 - Current Price of Units
Pricing through the week ending 23.59 Saturday 29 Dec 09 WE BUY @ 1,000,000 isk (1.0 mil) WE SELL @ 1,000,000 isk (1.0 mil) (Net Asset Value 1.0 mil isk/unit) Units are sold in 10 unit blocks i.e. 10,000,000 isk per block 10"
Register of investors is currently correct and shows current starting takeup to be 2.2 bil. Potsnack's investment not yet received (maybe there was a RL interruption or something ).
Anyway, all set for launch as planned.

For the third time of asking, will the valuation be verified or not? Do you understand what I mean?
No, sorry Varo. I've not done so before and I'm handling a fraction of the funds I've been trusted with (and returned with profits) previously.
@Cista2, ah I now see where you get that date from , post amended.
